Scar Release Therapy
SCARS are universal and take on many forms from surgical, broken bones, sprained joints, torn muscles, inflammation, or any areas that are injured with trauma. We all accumulate scars throughout our lives, and they impact our bodies in many negative ways. Center for Pain & Stress Research has developed a patented new Scar Release Therapy (SRT), a safe, clinically tested and proven solution. SRT is simple & painless to self-apply and is highly effective in reducing the negative influences of scars. Scar and relating adhesions often compress nerves, affect muscle function, change energy flow, and affect blood and lymph flow through the affected area.
How it works
The technique involves the simultaneous application of a safe low level electrical impulse to each side of the Physical scar. The microcurrent helps to relax and fade scar tissue, which can impede the functioning of muscles, fascia, and cause pain.
This speeds up the healing process by reducing restrictions and adhesions in the connective tissue. This physical healing allows mamas to return to/continue with lifting, walking, exercise and taking care of baby with less discomfort.
The number of sessions is determined by the depth and healing capacity of the scar, and your registered practitioner will be able to further guide you regarding this during the appointment.
We are able to visually change the appearance and mobility of scars in one treatment session! Scars that we often treat include those from breast augmentation or reduction or mastectomy, C-sections, removal of deep moles or skin lesions, facelifts, trauma scars, or any scars from surgeries. No matter how old the scar is, we can usually make significant physical changes!
Treatment
Microcurrent (a direct current that occurs in nature) from the Dolphin MPS units are applied directly to the scar, with each session lasts from 15-30 minutes depending on the surface area being treated. Scar tissue & adhesions can be released in as little as 2-3 visits, and usually have drastic improvement in appearance, color, soreness, and tissue mobility of the surrounding tissue within 1-3 sessions. Scar tissue tightens surrounding tissues and organs
Often, scars result in a tightening of the surrounding tissue that can restrict movement or function in the body. These restrictions not only affect the joint, limb or surrounding area, but they can affect the underlying organs, too. This is because scar tissue has the potential to spread in any direction, including internally, throughout the body. Fortunately, releasing the scar can yield powerful results, which can improve mobility, diminish complications and decrease pain often associated with deep scars.
MPS (Microcurrent Point Stimulation) is the method used to release scars and is especially effective in treating large, deep, painful scars. The term ‘release’ refers to the releasing or relaxing of contracted and tightened tissue. Coupled with manual release work (a specialized type of massage), MPS Scar/Adhesion Release Therapy significantly reduces the restrictions of scar tissue.
